You’ll be able to experience the spirit of the “Eternal City” with fun local guides who will introduce you to the local lifestyle and favorite culinary hang-outs.

Your Italian adventure will continue in Florence. In the capital of the Renaissance, you’ll learn about the world-renown masterpieces by Michelangelo, Raffaello, Botticelli, Donatello, Brunelleschi, and many others.

Experience what “being a local” is like during a walking tour through the city’s historic center and the exploration of the Florentine craft traditions. Take a day trip to the romantic Tuscan countryside, where you’ll visit the astonishing medieval town of San Gimignano.

Then take a fun cooking class with a local chef, followed by lunch and wine tasting, featuring the farm’s extra virgin olive oil and excellent wines.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Thursday, November 6 | The Journey Begins…

Departure from the USA. Overnight flight to Europe and arrival in Italy the following day.

DAY 1 | Friday, November 7 | Welcome to Italy!

Benvenuti! Welcome to Italy!

Arrive in Rome at Roma Fiumicino airport. Airport pick up and transfer to the hotel in Rome city center by private transportation. Arrive at hotel, check in, unpack, rest and relax after a long trip overseas.

In the afternoon, meet in the lobby with your Nada’s Italy Tour Director and the other fellow travelers. You will have a brief introduction concerning the planning of the rest of the day and the tour in general.

Next, you’ll head-off to see some major sites of the “Eternal City”! Together with your local guide from Rome, you will experience Rome’s enthralling historic beauty and architecture: Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, where Anita Ekberg and Marcello Mastroianni famously frolicked in Fellini’s cherished La Dolce Vita.

After concluding the tour, it’s time to enjoy a true Italian “Aperitivo” and a light dinner on a charming rooftop terrace in the historic center of Rome. Mingle over dinner and enjoy your first night in Italy!

DAY 2 | Saturday, November 8 | Vatican Treasures

Meet in the lobby with your local Nada’s Italy personal city guide for a guided tour of Rome and its major wonders. Today we’ll enter the Vatican City where we’ll visit the impressive Vatican Museums, including entrance into the head-tilting and jaw-dropping Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel.

We will then enjoy a spectacular visit of Saint Peter’s Basilica in all its majesty. St. Peter’s Basilica is one of the holiest temples for Christendom and one of the largest churches in the world. This famed pilgrimage site on Vatican Hill was constructed in the early 16th century. Once the world’s largest church, it remains one of the holiest sites in Christendom. Inside, you will see the Pietà, which Michelangelo completed when he was only 24.

We’ll enjoy a group lunch at a local Roman Osteria with a variety of local dishes.
Relish time at your leisure in the afternoon to shop or delve further into iconic Rome. Dinner on your own.

DAY 3 | Sunday, November 9 | Ancient Rome

Meet in the lobby with your Tour Director in the morning. Our tour today features the splendors of the classic Roman Empire! Gaze at gorgeous sites during our walk with an expert local guide who will paint a colorful visual of the ruins, opening a window to these splendid marvels of the past.

We will then walk along the ancient pavement, which crosses the inspiring ruins of the Roman Forum, the Curia, the Reggia. You will then be able to admire the Temple of Vesta, the Arch of Titus and the Arch of Constantine. The tour will continue with the visit of the massive structure of the Colosseum (internal visit, tickets included).

Take advantage of every minute of your afternoon to enjoy free time and lunch on your own. It’s the last day in Rome – make it special!

In the evening, meet in the lobby with your Tour Director to enjoy a group dinner at a local typical restaurant.

DAY 4 | Monday, November 10 | On the way to Florence

After check-out, we will say “Arrivederci” to the Italian Capital and make our way to Florence by private transportation.

Along the way, we’ll stop in Orvieto. Our local City guide will introduce us to this beautiful hilltop town in the region of Umbria, founded by the Etruscan civilization over two thousand years ago.

Enjoy some free time to explore around the village. Don’t miss the stunning Duomo, or Cathedral. Lunch will be on your own. After lunch, we’ll depart from Orvieto and resume our drive to Tuscany.

Evening arrival in Florence. Check-in, relax, refresh in one of the most elegant hotels in the Renaissance city.

Meet in the lobby with Tour Director and head to the restaurant. Group dinner in a classic Florentine restaurant in walking distance to the hotel.

DAY 5 | Tuesday, November 11 | The Cradle of Renaissance

Today is all about Florence! In the morning, we’ll enjoy a guided tour with our local City Guide of the Galleria dell’Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David up close and personal (museum tickets included with preferred access) followed by a walking tour of Florence.

Enjoy lunch on your own and the afternoon at leisure in the gorgeous city of Florence. Enjoy a little time for R&R, shopping, exploring, and discovering the amazing sites this city has to offer.

In the evening, meet in the lobby with your Tour Director and head to a nearby restaurant. Group dinner featuring tastes of local specialties.

DAY 6 | Wednesday, November 12 | Sweet Tuscan Life

Today is a super-fun day! After a relaxing breakfast, we’ll depart to the Tuscan countryside for a wine, food, and cooking experience!

First, we’ll visit a winery estate and enjoy a private tour of the wine cellars along with a wine tasting. We’ll continue our experience with a fun group hands-on cooking class by a local chef. Bring your aprons and learn to make fresh pasta! Group lunch after the cooking class paired with local wines.

After lunch, we’ll travel back in time! Our afternoon features a visit to the Medieval hilltop town of San Gimignano. The town is known for its dry white wine, Vernaccia, and irresistible hand-made crafts: hand-painted pottery, alabaster, olive wood items, leather goods, and so much more. Enjoy free time to explore on your own and shop for local crafts!

Return to Florence in the afternoon to enjoy the evening and dinner on your own.

DAY 7 | Thursday, November 13 | The Powerful Medici Family

Today you’ll keep exploring Florence with your local City Guide. The focus will be on the Medici Family, who ruled Florence and transformed the city into the birthplace of the Renaissance.

As you visit Palazzo Medici-Riccardi (Medici House), the Church of San Lorenzo, and the Medici Chapels, you’ll get a glimpse into the Medici’s intriguing life—their power, their passion for the arts, and the important roles Medici women played in this powerful family.

After the tour, enjoy lunch on your own and an afternoon at leisure. It may be the perfect opportunity to head to the outlet mall outside Florence or explore boutique shops in the city. If so, one of your stops may be the Officina Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, one of the oldest pharmacies in the world, founded by Dominican friars in 1221. The pharmacy used medicinal herbs grown in the monastic gardens to make medications, balms, and pomades for the monks’ infirmary.

The group gathers again in the evening for a delicious farewell dinner. Delizioso! Tonight will be your last night of the tour, so make it special!

DAY 8 | Friday, November 14 | Departure Day… Arrivederci!

As they say… all good things must come to an end as we check out of the hotel and… ARRIVEDERCI!
